I love Jacarandas, especially lining a long driveway or a street. We have them in Australia and there is a town in New South Wales called Grafton which is known as The Jacaranda City. Your lovely photos catch the colour and elegance of these trees.
Hi from Southern California! I came by to see your W post, and then saw this one on jacarandas. Yes, we've got those here as well; this year they were especially gorgeous. I posted photos a couple of times on my Much Ado About Something blog. In researching them a bit online, I discovered that Peoria is known as "Jacaranda City" there in South Africa due to the 70,000 trees---that must be quite a sight when they are all blooming. Our blooming season is over now; they are waiting for the leaves to come in and look brown an d twiggy again until then.
I never knew what jacaranda trees were and now I do...so much to learn. If I had thought about it I could have looked it up but so many times I have learned things from blogs that I forgot I didn't know...ha I hope that makes sense to you.
Photographing jacarandas is so hard to resist. Beautiful photos esp with the farm foreground. The jacarandas in Los Angeles area are just starting to fade.
What a gorgeous tree, Max! It's a visual delight! Well caught!!
ReplyDeleteFabulous color on this tree!
