The road itself is terrible, but the views more than compensated. The road was actually not a problem though, because we were driving quite slowly to soak up the view.
I think we struck it lucky travelling through during April, when the poplar trees were turning and putting on a such a striking show of colour.
They may be exotics, but they are certainly pleasing to the eye and add something special to the scenery.
Fabulous Scenery Max! What a beautiful area!!!
ReplyDeleteThese trees are amazing! And in these photos and along with the scenery... perfect!
ReplyDeleteI love those poplar trees. We have in Switzerland so many of them to the left and to the right side of the roads, that's always very pretty when the sun shines trough.
ReplyDeleteNice photo series of these trees!
Beautiful shots, love the colors, such cool looking Poplar trees, we have the not so cool looking ones that drop sticky pods and fluff over everything.
ReplyDeleteStunning photos and wonderful scenery Max! Those photos are stunning and takes my breath away... Love so much poplars - álamo or choupo in Portuguese. What a beautiful color! The road are beautiful, too!
ReplyDeleteBlack Populars were planted all over the North West of England many many years ago... we even have a Manchester Poplar (Poplus nigra betulifolia) but these are now under threat..... I always like to see these on a sky line.
ReplyDeleteWonderful series of photos! I love the last three especially.
ReplyDeletePoplars are popular as windbreaks in this area.
ReplyDeleteI have an award for you. You will find it at my blog.
When I was young I could see a line of poplar trees on the near horizon from my bedroom window.
ReplyDeleteI now a few of them disappeared some years ago. Don't know how they are now.
I am very much enjoying your posts. These are beautiful...
