.......mmmm so can anyone see the stars through all this rigging.... and how does one keep tabs on all this rope?
I must say that there is something romantic about a tall ship, but personally I like terra firma.
NRP Sagres, a Portuguese navy training ship stopped in at Port Elizabeth for a visit this week. Like many other people in the city I could not resist taking time to visit her.
Great idea for SWF. Beautiful pictures :-) Well done
ReplyDeleteI went back to take a second look at Suzy's tall ship photos from earlier in the week. Both of you got awesome views. Dueling cameras?
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures of a very beautiful ship!!
ReplyDeleteGreat SWF shots!!!
Isn't she a beauty? Thanks for sharing this.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful set of photos. Really enjoyed looking at them.
ReplyDeleteOH WOW! This is something I don't see every day. ;-)
ReplyDeleteHappy Sky Watch!
Hello - lovely pictures
ReplyDeleteand i LOVE the Elefant
Smil from monika
I come back ;)
Wonderful shots...and how did they keep up with all those ropes?
ReplyDeleteand I am glad I don't have to climb up anything there.
That one is a really grand Tall Ship, beautifully captured! :-)
ReplyDeleteI miss seeing a tall ship every now and then. Somehow, they don't sail down the Danube.
Ships like that draw a crowd. Great skywatch picture.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you that I also prefer terra firma. But these shots are stupendous! I bet you enjoyed visiting the ship and catching all the photos. Come visit me at my Photologue - although my shot today isn't nearly as good as yours! :D
ReplyDeleteTheseare great Shots Max... love the 'Rigging'
ReplyDeleteTom
These are fanatsic, especially the second all the rigging against that beautiful sky.
ReplyDeleteI love tall ships. Hubby and I were going to take a sail on one of the Windjammer cruise ships, which are mostly tall ships like this, but they filed for bankruptcy protection :-( I guess hard times are falling on everyone.
ReplyDeletePeace - D
I had to learn that poem in school too. And funnily enough that first line is all I remember. When you're on one of those boats, it doesn't feel so unstable - give it a try. Lovely series of photos - thanks for sharing them with us!
ReplyDeleteWho doesn't love seeing tall ships?! They're amazing -- and your intro lines from John Masefield are perfect.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful ship and wonderful shots!:)
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend:)
excellent! I am a land lubber too! but I love to watch :)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful. I can almost understand the attraction of going to see in something so lovely.
ReplyDeleteAlways a pleasure to visit your site and view all your photos.
Marnie
I too love tall ships and would gladly sail on one for a few days but definitely not around the Cape of Good Hope or The Horn of Africa.
ReplyDeleteI prefer to leave that sort of thing to the Ancient Mariner. Great shots, also of the geese and if I may make so bold, the goslings?
A beautiful ship! It would take a navy to keep all those ropes untangled. :-)
ReplyDeletewow! never mind the skies without the stars... the ship's too nice already!
ReplyDeleteI keep on saying it, but I wish I was hear to see and photograph the ship.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots. "And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by" John Masefield.
ReplyDeleteThe Tall Ships are always so neat to look at. I think it would be fun to travel on them for awhile but I don't know that I would want a job on one.
ReplyDeleteThat is one grand ship! Wow. I am always amazed that sailors can figure out all that rigging and make it go!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful lines and angles. I guess I like Terra Firma too but the Tall Ships are simply beautiful.
ReplyDeleteMax-e these are bautiful ship photos, and wow lot of workmanship. Anna :)
