Skywatch Friday - Black sky

Black skies on their own are definitely not very appealing, so I decided to bring the old lighthouse on the Donkin into the picture, as it provides a nice contrast against the night sky.

Another view of the Donkin, with the moon rising over the Bay.

What a wonderful lighthouse and it is indeed perfect against the night sky and with the moon -- a perfect extra! Hope your week has gone well, Max! Enjoy your weekend! Happy SWF!

These are very interesting and beautiful images!

Black skies, btw, nowadays are much sought after, light pollution unfortunately makes them hard to come by.

Interesting reading the comment above, because I was thinking how clear and crisp your night pictures are. I thought because you are such a great photographper, which I know is true! But maybe also becaue there is less light pollution!

I've taken the first picture but during the day. I've never seen a night version. You are making me itch to get into Central after dark.
