Queen Victoria

I seem to have a thing about Queen Victoria, whose statues seem to grace many a city around the world. In fact my last Q post was also on her.

On our recent trip to Lesotho, our guide Jerry, who had just taken us up Mt Moorosi and on a long trek to see bushman art, pointed to this mountain with a smile and informed us it was Queen Victoria sitting on her throne. If you look carefully, you will see some huts on the side of the hill in the foreground.

I immediately saw a resemblance. Do you?

Very matronly,
sitting up there, surveying here flock! ;-)
(Austrians would see a resemblance to Empress Maria Theresa - on my Mother's Day post -, but would be very surprised to find her down in Africa: Who'd be tending the children back home in Vienna? *smile*).

Perfect choice of words from Merisi. Very matronly. Great choice for the letter Q.

Yep she looks like QVic OK - a couple of my Q posts today feature her too.

I side with Gerald where he mention the old saying about Queen Victoria not being amused. In your case she looks as if she definitely was not!

YES - I see the resemblance. In October 2006 (or maybe November) I posted a photo of a statue showing Queen Victoria on her throne and yes, it is strikingly similar!

Great shot and choice for Q!

Rocks and clouds give us such food for thought. I see her long gown but the face is a little obscure.

I chose to use nearby Quadra Island for Q. It is a fun vacation destination that you can see by clicking here. – Margy

Max, you must come have a look at my Queen Victoria. She is not in my offical ABC Wednesday, but I remembered her afterwards. Stop by and see if you notice a resemblance.

Queen Vic does get around the place doesn't she. I can see her facing away to the left with her back in shadow and holding her head in her lap. Hmm, wrong monarch...lol I'd better keep looking.
