Warthogs can be seen around just about every turn and corner at the Addo Elephant National Park.
They give a new meaning to the word ugly.
In fact they are so ugly they are beautiful.
Those tusks can inflict a nasty wound if they are cornered and go into self defense mode.

I would not want to meet up with that one!
Warthogs are such funny looking things aren't they? I agree there is something loveable about them...or have I just seen too many Walt Disney productions lol. Fantastic photos max-e.
Dot, you do not have to worry about meeting up with one of these. Like most wild animals they will run off as soon as you approach
Lid, warthogs are very comical - they are one of my favourite animals because of that.
If tamed thay make the most delightful pets, but that should only happen if one is orphaned.
And they are very religous animals. They often can be seen standing on their knees when they eat. LOL.
The real reason they go on their knees Firefly, is because they are so ugly that they have to beg the grass to allow them to eat it.
LOL... loved your response to firefly!!
These guys are not pretty.. only a face a mother would love but really neat to see them here... never knew much about them. Great photos.

The courage to be different ..... ;-)
Ouch Max-e, but then we have those in our Toronto Zoo, lol. I saw one with babies last time I visited, they looked cute despite very obvious uglyness, lol. Anna :)
