Oh flowers

I photographed this flower in the garden at the entrance to Redhouse last week, but have no idea what it is. Can anyone help me out?

I don't know what the flower is, but it is beautiful, and your photograph is stunning!

It reminds me of the work of an artist called Jason Hackenwerth who was featured on one of the blogs I read, on Jan 9th:(stevyncolgan.blogspot.com)

That is an absolutely lovely flower. Its poetic yet plain. I love it!

It looks like some kind of bromeliad. You might google images of bromeliads and see if you get a match.

Corey Wilde thanks for that. I did the search and it is one of the bromeliad family - apparently there are around 2,400 species. The most famous bromeliad is the pineapple.

Beautiful bromelaid pic Max. I posted some a while back too. They are such a lovely splash of colour in a garden.

I LOVE these bromeliads - at my dad's house in Walmer there is a whole slope covered in them. They also propagate themselves so easily. Stunning shot!
