Sky Watch Friday - Marlin

This metal sculpture of a marlin that now graces the fountain at Port St Francis, struck me as being a good subject for this week's Sky Watch. Yesterday was a beautiful day at the Port. No clouds and very little wind, made it a pleasant day to be out and about. My commiserations to those of you who are enduring snow and ice at the moment - I love Africa.

We'll survive, even though we don't have that fish (or snow). But I would like to have that sculpture!

A Happy New Year to you and your dear ones!

Happy New Year to you and your family, Max. That's an excellent photo of a very interesting sculpture. Although I'm not one of those who is suffering from ice and snow, it's not very warm here this New Year's Day, but we do have very clear blue skies.

The Marlin appears to be jumping out of the sea. Magnificent sculpture and capture.

I like it.

Locally the snow is history for now, but three cross state passes are closed because of avalanche danger. We got stuck in our son's driveway yesterday and it took us 45 minutes to dig out. Rather harrowing minutes since our rear end was sticking out into the lane of traffic.

What a beautiful photo! Glad you are warm. It is very chilly and white here. Has its own beauty but I tire of it quickly.

Your page is full of wonderful photos. I enjoyed scrolling down and exploring.

Happy New Year!

It's been so gloomy and gray here in Ohio that your amazingly blue sky looks even more inviting. Beautiful capture!

Commiserations unnecessary. Starngly enough some of us love the winter too. Says one who are still waiting for the snow. But I must confess your photo looks very inviting with the bluer than blue sky and the sculpture is very handsome and , as you say, a good subject indeed.
Happy and sunny 2009 to you.
