Palm from down under

No it's not an Australian palm, but one I photographed at St Georges Park this afternoon, while lying on my back in the dirt.

Now I'm wondering if you just decided to lay on your back or if you did that to get the picture. Anyhow it's an interesting shot!

Dot, I was not getting the desired result while standing up, so I lay down with my head at the base of the tree.

What a great capture... if I came across a chap lied on his back like so I would walk past quick thinking it a drunk... ha!

Sometimes you just have to do what you have to do to get a picture!

Sharon, my position on the ground would have also made an interesting shot:)

Tom, Sue says not drunk, just a little loony :)

Meda, glad you like it. It is my favourite angle for photographing trees, but then I don't always lie on my back.

Katney, you are so right. Aside from having a good eye for a picture, a photographer needs to be a contortionist.

That is the way to do it! Much more fun (and interesting picture) than straight on!

Runee, that is very much part of photgraphy - having fun :)

Imagining you down in the dirt makes me smile. Finally somebody who goes to even greater length than I do to get a good angle. I ended up lying down on my back once, involuntarily though. I had been aiming to get a better angle when I lost my balance and fell right on my back. People looking out from a cafe' right beside me got a really good laugh out if it.
