Fishing boats in the Port

Looks like the fishermen also decided to take a long weekend over Easter. I thought these boats made an interesting study.

There must be a culture difference in the design of fishing boats also. Despite the well known phenomenon of globalization, we can still see large differences between the boats from just small areas like the around the North Sea.

These again. are still more different from ours - which makes them even more charming.

Kerri it was one of those weekends where we ended doing very little of what we planned. But it was great.

Jenty, hope you get your break soon and have a great time.

Bob, what I liked about this was the contrasting colours. There is usually a mish mash of boats and colours when they are in port.

Sonia, thanks for the comment. That also caught my eye at the time.

MedaM thanks for the comments, glad you enjoyed it.

Photowannabe, thanks for that. I was going to call it study in red and black

RuneE, I guess there is a tradition in the design of craft, but I believe there it could also depend on the ocean conditions.
I have heard, that the boats on Lake Kariba in Zimbabwe have specially designed hulls, to cope with the swells, which are rough and close together. But then again it could be preference

Heather you are so right, it is a wonderful place. We find that spending time on the beach at Cape at Francis or walking along the wild side really refreshes the soul.
