Blog of Note - Who me?

When I checked my e-mails yesterday afternoon, I noticed that I had a flood of comments and then read a few congratulations for having been selected as a Blog of Note. That is the last thing I expected and all I can say is, "WOW", in more ways than one.

First of all I often browse through the Blogs of Note, but never expected to be on the list. In fact I generally try and keep out of the lime light, but this time round I guess I can't, so thank's team Blogger for the recognition.

Secondly, it has unleashed a wave of visitors and comments that is simply unbelievable. There have been about 8,000 hits on my site since yesterday morning. That is amazing.
I have always blogged for my own pleasure and have enjoyed the friendships and interactions that have developed over cyber space and just want to say a big thank you for all the visits and comments. There are just too many messages to respond to at the moment, but I will make a point of visiting everyone who has left a comment .............. except the spam merchants of course.

In case you are wondering about the warthog, the only reason he is here is because I like warthogs.

wow, that's wonderful, congrats!! I read your blog all the time, even though I don't comment often anymore.

PS. I've noticed that your blogroll still has a link to my old site, please change it ;) Thanks :)

Hey! I found its blog in the list of most interesting! It can seem strange what I go to say, but, Africa is VERY strong! I wait that you continue portraying this. It forgives me for the bad English.

I love warthogs too - infact I can recommend an amazing book called "All the way home" by Bookey Peek (my stepmum). We had a pet warthog, called Pumba, of course named after the Lion King by my little brother who was 6 at the time!

Well now that you are "blog famous" I hope you won't forget your old blog friends. *wink* Ha ha ha ha.
I have to say congrats again. You really deserve it. And I agree about the spammers. At least leave a proper comment before advertising yourself.

Congratulations on the Blog of Note. I, too, like warthogs. In fact, I wrote a story about one I saw in San Antonio, Texas.

People are so interested because most of us will never get the chance to go to such an exotic place such as Africa. If we can't go, then the next best thing is to connect with someone who can. Your photography is terrific. I love elephants but find myself really enjoying the dung-beetles.

My congratulations. 8000 hits is just amazing. You know I visited the Addo Park in the 50's when I was a child. You have made me positively enthusiastic about doing a trip down to the Eastern Cape next year and discovering it all over again. My family on my mom's side were married to Rippons who farmed near Seven Fountains and we visited the farm at least once a year when I was young and did a major trip to PE on the back of a truck dressed in dust coasts! You and your neigbours are real heroes to do neighbourhood watch under those conditions. Go well!

I haphazardly throw my hat in the blog-of-note-comments ring, further clogging your inbox. Huzzah! I very much like the photography, and am also a fan of warthogs, as much as a California resident can truly appreciate them. Hope things continue well for you!

Like my buddy Willow, and you this week as well, today was my blog of note day. You're right, it's a bit of information overload, and I'd never really thought about it at all, but I'm happy to pay a visit here and take a peek around because of BoN.

And I do like your warthog very much.
Congratulations.

I'm brand new to the. Eh. Uh. Blogosphere. Gah there I said it (such an atrocious word). Anyway I'm new to blogging so I'll keep an eye on you because you must be doing something right!

here in the Philippines we do have so many pigs like this in the wild. Sad to say that this pig is part of the menu in some areas. Their meat is pure lean meat no fats.
