Autumn is a coming

Suddenly the green is gone. A plane tree, photographed in Richmond Hill early yesterday morning, with the sun's rays catching the leaves, bears mute testimony to the fact that autumn is upon us. Shortly after taking this picture we we caught in a light shower - it would have been more fun if I was not trying to keep the rain off my camera.

Wow, that's just too pretty. Against that sky, it's just amazing. I look out at my snow and back at this photo and I sigh... beautiful post.

I don't know which I'd rather have spring or autumn. That's a beautiful shot and a beautiful home. Interesting building in the background also.

Nessa glad you like it

That is just gorgeous max. Such a clever image. I love the way the point on the roof directs my eye to the break in the clouds.

I am always sheltering my camera from sudden squalls of rain. It gets priority over keeping myself dry. LOL.

Michelle, it was a beautiful balmy morning when I took the shot, having just caught the sunrise over the bay. It does not snow here, but anytime from June to October we can get snow in the interior - it does not last long though.

Dot, our autumns are beautiful in the Eastern Cape especially April.
The building in the background in the old Synagogue - you can see it here on Port Elizabeth Daily Photo - http://portelizabethdailyphoto.blogspot.com/2007/12/places-of-worship-6.html

Living is Detail, when I saw it I could not resist the shot.

Rain........I have been meaning to carry a ziplock back with me for just such emergencies, but always forget to take one, so it has to hide under my armpit :)

This is fantastic photo. The light is somehow magic and that tree, its luxurious treetop is awesome as well as its colour. I am simply delighted with the whole composition of this photo. And while the spring is around to come over here the autumn is coming there. Both spring and autumn are just great seasons.

That is such a pretty picture!! And yes, it's quite sad to see the autumn colours here too.

Another excellent shot, isn't life weird, fall is coming to one part of the world, and spring to another, such is life.

Fall is coming Max-e, wow, as we getting ready to wake up for the spring, you will be getting ready to go sleep soon, lol. This is really nice photo. Thanks for sharing, Anna :)

MedaM, thanks for the comments. I just love the early morning light as the sun catches the tops of trees and buildings as it rises.

Jenty you are so right, those orange leaves mean that the cld is just around the corner. It's been a beautiful summer in the Eastern Cape.

Gemma, the pics will keep on coming, but the one thing you won't see here is snow, though we do get occassional snowfalls inland.

Thanks Tom

Kerri, the one thing I am looking forward to is when the aloes flower in June. It is one of the many strange phenomena of this area that something is always flowering.

Bob, I am just thankful that we do not have to contend with temperatures of -40C. For us winter is really not that bad - last winter was quite mild.

Anna I hope you have a really great spring. As I mentioned to Bob, our winters are quite pleasant over here. We don't even get frost where we live in Port Elizabeth.
What is your Richmond Hill like?

Our Richmond Hill is just like a regular town or city, lot of malls, small shops, some nice established housing, some production housing (meaning all look the same), nice gardens during summer, small lake around the corner, and lots of snow during winter, and sometimes filled with lot of cars on the roads. Max-e just like other ordinary town or city in Canada, with it's own personality somewhere. Sorry for making it long, thanks for asking. Anna :)

I know this house! I used to live just down the road in Mackay Street for a while.

Thanks for your wonderful blog, which I only just discovered today. I left PE about a year ago and all the photos really make me nostalgic.
