Oyster Catcher

This is the closest I have been able to get to an oyster catcher, but it was not close enough to get a really good shot. Oyster catchers are quite rare, but I have a different take on the subject. I think they just make themselves scarce, especially when there is a human around with a camera.

I got very lucky with an oystercatcher at Eersterivier a little while ago and got a couple of very nice shots, but in general its not easy getting close to them, I agree.

I love the shot. Nice portrait, with great framing. That's far closer than I've ever gotten!

A perfect picture. A mighty zoom lens is very usefful in these instances. Of course, I would first have to get about 10000 miles closer to the oyster catcher...
