Hi Jenty. We are always stopping a photographing ruins - often as subjects for Sue to paint. Sometimes like on this occassion, driving a distance onto some farmers land to take the pic. This way you get really close up and stand the chance of being driven off by an excited farmer. Makes life interesting.

Well dear so far THIS is my fav pic. I adore old buildings. I saw so many abandoned barns and homes on this last trip but I wasn't able to stop for them... driving and taking pics just didn't mix this time. Too many miles to cover,,, sigh....
Hi Cheesy, there are a lot more where this one comes from. We are always stopping to photgraph old buildings. Sue once travelled to East London with a friend. His style was to go from A to B as quickly as possible - after being made to stop a few times for pictures he travels with a "new set of eyes"

My aging and quirky Hyundai Terracan which is not always reliable, but somehow manages to get me and Sue through our many adventures. Here we were heading up the Sani Pass.

lovely pic - following your comment about wind turbines I've done a whole post about a wind farm!
I like the ruin you've photographed. It would be interesting to hear its tales.
You might want to also look at the wind turbines link on this blog, too.

Gorgeous, I love it! There are such stark ruins all over the Freestate, I should really drive closer to them to take better photos.
Thanks for stopping by Lynette and for leaving the link. I will definitely have a look.
