Karoo Kameos - Fogs

Any aspirant princesses out there?

Take your pick.................

I never expected to find frogs in the Karoo, in the middle of a draught, but this lot had taken up residence in a spring fed pool at the foot of the Grootwinterhoek Mountains

Nothing like a good dip to cool off on a hot day.

Ribbit! ribbit! Great shots there Max. Was this in the little Karoo? On our trip to SA in 2008 we travelled through the little Karoo from the Kango caves to a small town called Stellendam. The mountain passes were breathtaking and I was sorry I couldn't take any photos as I was driving. Wish I was back there now. Out in the middle of nowhere there was a pub called "Ronnies sex shop" I will put a photo up on my blog to show you. We never went in by way.

Hi Travellin Van, this was furter East between Kleinpoort and Steytlerville, near the base of the Cockscomb Mountain.
Sue and I stopped at Ronnies Sex Shop on one of our trips, which is as you say a pub. We met the proprietor, who is quite a character.

It is amazing what the Karoo offers. I know Alan Hobson who is a fly fishing guide in the Karoo and he is always telling how you catch trout and other fly in the Karoo mountain streams and pools.
